Home care has long been discussed as the answer to the rising costs of healthcare in Canada, especially as the baby boomers continue to enter the senior citizen stage of their lives, putting an incredible strain on the economy in regards to healthcare and social dollars. The preference to receive care in one’s own home removes the cost usually associated with putting seniors in the hospital or long term care facility.

In light of this important area for Canadian healthcare, AlayaCare and TELUS Health Solutions have signed a reseller agreement to distribute AlayaCare’s innovative home health care Electronic Health Record (EHR), Agency Management and Telehealth solution across Canadian and international health systems.

“We are very excited for this partnership with TELUS,” stated Adrian Schauer, AlayaCare’s Chief Executive Officer.

“TELUS is using their reputation and leadership position in Canada to bring the importance of home health to the forefront. We are proud to be an integral part of their plans as they aim to provide the infrastructure for Canada’s continuum of care.”

TELUS is a leading national telecommunications company in Canada, providing a wide range of communications products and services including data, Internet protocol (IP), voice, entertainment and video.

AlayaCare is unique as it is the only major home healthcare vendor in North America that has a platform for an integrated EHR and telehealth solution. By combining clinical documentation with pre- and post-acute telehealth (which include devices such as wearables, remote patient monitoring and video conferencing), the health provider and their payer(s) are able to gain access to data not previously made available through separate solution vendors.

AlayaCare also uses machine learning, or artificial intelligence, to determine the best scheduling and routing options for a home care provider. Finally, they act as the pipes that connect, allowing for communication between the payer, the patients, the provider, and the provider employees.
